Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships.

Well you can see a little bit of our view from the apartment we now live in, as well as our cat, Titus. :) What do you think? Personally I find it funny that we're looking *down* on the street sign Verdugo, which sounds an awful lot like vertigo. :P It's nice to actually see green hills outside, which is a rarity in the LA area.

Rachel finishes up her condensed semester at Glendale Community College tomorrow, then she gets 12 days off until the Spring semester. Although I don't celebrate Valentine's Day in the most normal of ways, I know the halmark holiday is important to Rachel, so I'm gonna do something special...and original. :D You'll all have to wait to hear about it because she reads this journal. :P

Lately I've been thinking about my outlook on life, and my place in it. Which would be a good time to point out the quote at the beginning. It's much like how I feel I should be...how I used to be. I feel like I've strayed from my spiritual wellness, and it bothers me. I always believed that I was somewhat selfless, and cared more for others than I did myself. But, I guess with all the focus on worrying about my career, and other such stuff, I just don't think I'm that lighthouse anymore. I've been building my ship and getting ready to sail. :/ I've been preoccupied with instant-satisfaction, that's -- NOT -- what I'm about!

I've noticed an increase in anger, stress, anxiety, and just a general blah-ness. It's damaging me, my relationship with my girlfriend, and my relationship with life.

I need a quiet spot of grass, a warm sunny sky, a copy of The Tao Te Ching, and a connection to my spirit in order to meditate and work myself back into my place.

I need to be myself again, before I'm lost.

A year later...

Yes, I realize my departure from blogging. I dunno, maybe this website will come down soon. I just can't decide yet. It's a labor of love, something I've worked so hard to create, I don't want to see it just disappear into nothing-ness. :/ We'll see. We'll see if I can actually keep a writing schedule for it, or if it will be another 2 months before I blog again. *sigh*

Don't get me wrong, I'm not depressed. Nothing bad has happened. I'm doing fine. :D

Rachel and I went to Idaho for Xmas to visit my family. I had a great time seeing my parents and hanging out in the old neighborhood. (sort of, because it's actually a new neighborhood.) I didn't get a chance to see any of my old friends though, although I tried, they just weren't around. :/ But the scenery was nice, if you like big open spaces and clean skies. :P Rachel didn't feel right there, which I don't blame her. She grew up in California, and unless you're accustomed to the "country life" then you probably won't be too happy there. I assured her that Boise is a lot nicer looking in the spring and summer, when there are leaves on the trees and the hills aren't so dead looking. We'll see if we go back for a trip.

One thing she did like about Idaho, was my parents! Yay! She thought they were great and extremely too nice, which I agree because they did buy us a lot of stuff and gave us a lot of furniture for our new apartment. :D

Yes! We finally moved to a new place here in L.A.! We moved to Glendale, which is inbetween Pasadena and Burbank. It's great because we're right up in the hills, with nice views of the mountains and no sight of the yuckiness of L.A. until we drive down the hill and see downtown L.A. in the distance. Glendale on the otherhand is very clean, and a much safer place to live then the ghettos of North Hollywood. :P I'll update later with pictures of the place and our wonderful views, as soon as we're done unpacking and it looks somewhat decent. (We've lived here for two weeks and there's still boxes laying around? Oi!)

I'm currently on a rush to find a steady 9-5 job to pay the bills, the acting jobs slowed down to a hault over the holiday season, and are slowly picking back up...unfortunately not fast enough for me to get the money I need. :( I did work on "Malcolm in the Middle" at the beginning of the month. The dad of the show is at a party with some of his college co-workers, and I'm one of the kids at the party. It was a fun time on the set, and you'll have to stay tuned for that episode, when it airs in March. :D

Rachel is in class right now, we live RIGHT next to her college. She walks to school. I can actually SEE her walk out of her classroom, we're that close! :P It makes me sort of miss going to school, in a way. But then we go over homework and stuff, and I don't miss it so much. :)

So, fellow readers, I'm sorry for the long delay, and I hope you keep checking back here for more on the life of me, the struggling actor in hollywood, cuz when I make it big, you can say you read my boring blog. ;)

I was told not to worry...

Ok, so waiting could be the worst part of finding an apartment. The order goes like this:

1. Look for places on Westsiderentals.com and ask if the place in question is still available.
2. Go look at the place and make sure it's at least the same as the picture shown online.
3. Go inside the place and make sure it has no strange looking stains on the floor, bathtub, or walls.
4. If the place meets certain requirements, take an application and fill it out, give it back and pay $20/each for a credit check.
5. Hope that your credit isn't at all that bad, and hope that missing a few school payments which were all paid back, doesn't ruin you.
6. Wait for a decision to be made, in the meanwhile still looking for places because you're never sure what will happen.

Ok so we've applied to the place we looked at Saturday, we've waited, we've called, we've waited some more, we've called again, and now we're waiting.

Waiting until when, do you ask? Friday. FRIDAY! Argh, we need to move this weekend, and this guy is telling us to meet his mom (who owns the building and is making the decision) on Friday. I asked him if we at least have a chance, because I don't see the point if he's just leading us on until we're screwed. But he said there are two other couples who have applied, and that we're all pretty much even. Now it's all about...who is more stable. Oi. I just hope that the other couples are psycho. :/

Anyhow...I'm proud of myself. Two updates in two days. Go me. :)

On my way...

Wow. So I really am averaging one post per month.

I really do suck.

Maybe if I leave a post-it note on my computer screen, reminding me to update my blog each day, I'll pay attention to it. :/

Well, let's see. The current news. Rachel and I are moving to Glendale next weekend, I'm working on that new HBO show I spoke of last update, and we're adopting Danielle's cat, Titus. :)

Rachel and I have been searching for places for quite sometime now, and we recently found this great place in the Glendale hills, right above GCC which is great for Rachel because she needs to go to school and finish her stuff so she can transfer. The only thing about this place, is that it's not entirely secured by us, yet. Apparently, before we could get the opportunity to go look at it Saturday, a girl went and saw it Friday and already put a deposit on the place. But, the guy renting it seems to like us more, and has kinda given us the *wink* go-ahead to fill out applications and put a deposit down as well. See, the girl didn't fill out an application yet, so today I went and dropped those off..making us one step ahead of her. :D

Anyhow, the new HBO western is in the midst of shooting it's pilot episode, and has high confidence in being picked up for a full season. I believe them, because it's THAT good. This show is awesome to work on, and I'm glad I committed to growing a beard for it...it was worth it.

Danielle is moving back in with her "used to be" ex-bf, but now is her current bf, and can't have a pet. So since Rachel and I have been basically taking care of Titus since Danielle has spent more time over at Tryg's than at home...we've decided to adopt him. He seems to love us, and we love him. :)

Ok, so...I'll write that post-it note now, and make sure I post again tomorrow.

Adios!

I have not yet arrived at my destination.

A part of me wants to redesign Blogtography, but the other part of me likes it the way it is and just wishes I'd update more. Problem with redesigning it, is that I have been so out of the whole "computer" thing, that I am afraid I may have forgotten certain basics. How do I even start to code a page? (Okay so it's not that drastic, I haven't completely lost my inner nerd. It's just stuffed in a trashcan somewhere, or getting swirlies in the gym toilet by a bunch of jocks.) We'll have to see what I can muster up, if anything at all. I have been interested in "cell-shading" graphics, but I can't seem to figure out the dynamics of such a project. :/ Anyone know of photoshop actions that automate that all for me? Maybe my inner nerd is just lazy? Oh well.

Rachel has been gone since Thursday. She drove to her parents for the weekend to visit them and her friends. We still talked on the phone at least 2 times a day, and a few chats on AIM, and I sent her a few text messages to her cell phone. :0D I certainly do miss her. The apartment has been empty besides myself, the cat (titus), and the hamster (triscuit). As much as I like how I win every argument I had with them, and there were quite a few (don't let a hamster borrow your clothes), I can't help but feel something missing. Like a voice who is able to defend their side of the story. :0P

HBO is making a new TV series called "Deadwood". It's based around the story of Wild Bill Hickock and his partner Calamity Jane. (Fact: Wild Bill Hickcok took a life-ending bullet to the head during a poker game in a town called Deadwood) The show sounds promising, and although the decision hasn't been made, I MAY be a regular on the show, living in the town of Deadwood. :0P I'm growing a beard as requested for it and everything. So let's all cross our fingers and hope I get some regular work here. :0)

The girlfriend should be home in a few hours, so I'm going to finish up some uninterrupted time being a guy, and go play my Xbox. :0D

Walking together with liars, makes one alone in truth.

So Rachel and I went to the San Diego Zoo last sunday, to see the panda's before they go back to China. It was a really fun, and much needed mini-vacation for the both of us. I took a bunch of photos which I'm sure you'll be seeing in days to come on Blogtography. ;)

Guess I can't write a journal entry today without mentioning what day it is. A year has passed already, and where are we now? Still in a state of alert. It's frightening, that we've gone from thinking we were impervious to attacks on our soil, to becoming paranoid baffling idiots focusing on one issue in an entire world full of plight. We need to broaden our view, and not just be centered on one goal. :/

Another thing I find annoying, why do we refer to this day as 9/11? It's SEPTEMBER 11th!! Say it with me...SEP-TEM-BER EEEE-LEV-ENTH!! Do we call Christmas 12/25? New Years 1/1? Is it so hard for reporters to say a few extra syllables?!?

On another note, just as last years SEPTEMBER 11th was strangely surreal, my moment of silence this morning was (on a smaller note) too.

Working on the set of "Charmed" again, we were all gathered around this flag in the studio, some people were crying, and they had a guy playing the bagpipes. Sounds nice, huh?

As if it wasn't odd enough that I was standing next to a sobbing Alyssa Milano... THEY HAD A MAN IN A KILT..PLAYING BAGPIPES!! Just for the small amount of crew and cast members!! :P

Anyway, I think I'm going to dress up as a man in a kilt playing bagpipes for 10/31.

Adios.

Stop fighting the natural order of the Universe.
You are IN this situation - not OF it.

As of this Labor Day weekend, I will no longer work at The Jonathan Club at the beach, playing games all day in the sand. That job is over, as all the little children go back to school, waiting for their next vacation.

I will return to what I was doing before my position at the JC...acting.

In fact I'm working on "Charmed" tomorrow morning. :0) It'll be a nice return, because I've missed being on the set. I've heard people complain about how long the hours are, and how boring it is waiting between takes...but I think if you have a true passion for doing this...it all doesn't matter. I LOVE IT, and nothing will keep me from it. Waking up early to be on set at 7am is something I am looking forward to. :0D

Rachel and I are getting along, as well as any couple in their 20's can get along. :0P That's not to mean we're in trouble, not at all. We have our disagreements every now and then, but it makes me love her no less, and in fact makes me love her more..for staying true to who she is, and what she believes in.

At the moment we're trying to get her out of her lease with her psycho roommate, because he made up his OWN lease, basically subleasing the bedroom out of the apartment, and THEN made all these stupid rules Rachel has to follow, PLUS he's trying to gank money from her hands at any chance he can get. And this guy is at least in his thirties! He avoids talking to Rachel about anything dealing with the lease...he only tells her that she owes him money and if she doesn't pay he'll report her to the rental board or something. Anyhow, he apparently made the lease without asking the actual landlord of the place if he could sublet, so we're trying to legally get out that way, because it would make his lease invalid. And if that doesn't work, the stupid guy wrote on her lease that it ends on "January 2002", which by my calculations has already passed.. so we'll use that as our loop-hole if nothing else. :0)

So Rachel will live here until November when we're moving out, and I'm not quite sure what will happen then. Either move in together, hopefully to a larger place where we would have more space for "each other", or move in seperate places close by to one another. Rachel thinks she may want to move back home, which I would dislike...very much...but we'll see how she feels in a few months about L.A. and how it's treating her.

I've got to go finish my laundry...adios!

to enlighten it would frighten you

I'm not going say anything about not posting for a long time, because I don't really care.

Anyway.

I'm surviving the summer. I'm working on my farmer's tan. This way when I go to the beach I can scare people away with my hideously pale skin when I take off my shirt. :0D

Well the pic of the day (or month, going by my update schedule), is of Rachel and I. We were "being emo", so staying on that same subject... let me tell you about a band called Feeling Left Out. If you like Dashboard Confessional, but thought he needed another guitar and vocals... then FLO is for you! This duo from New Jersey is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Get those 4 mp3s off of MP3.com!! Gorgeous work they do. <3

Ok well the updates. Rachel is moving here this weekend!!!!! She'll be living a tad bit over 12 miles away from me (12.76 miles, to be exact) in Beverly Hills. Yup, 90210. :0P I have a feeling she'll be over here a lot though, because I wouldn't want her to get lonely and creeped out by her 40 year old roommate who lives in the living room. :0) Plus there isn't anything I enjoy more than waking up next to her. :0x

TV season is off hiatus, so even though I am still working on the beach with kids, I'm going to make the effort to get on some shows during my days off. :0) Hopefully I'll get on something for this Friday, because I'd enjoy the extra money.

Next Tuesday is my birthday...I'll be a quarter-century old. Yikes. I'm actually going to be in my "late twenties" after this next year, so I'd better make my "mid-twenties" an amazing year. :0P

Now I'm going to wash the dishes because my roommates refuse to, and I actually like our place to be CLEAN! *grrr* <3

There is tragedy in not believing.

Great news everyone! I'm now, once again, certified to makeout with you safely. :0D Ok, ok...so I'm certified in CPR again. This time by the AHA. The 5 or 6 other times I've been certified has been with Red Cross. Now being certified by either is great, but I would have to recommend the Red Cross...I feel more comfortable with the training from them, and I'm not saying AHA's was bad...just different. :0)

Anyway, that's what I did this morning. I had to wake up at 6.30am to get to downtown Los Angeles by 8am. I thought I would have to fight traffic, but apparently it was too early for that. :0P I was there a half hour early, so I just stood around waiting for my other co-workers. It's all ok though, because I got paid to be there. :0)

This Saturday marks the start of working full-time for Jonathan Beach Club. From that day forth, I'll be putting in 35-40 hours a week playing with kids on the beach until Labor Day. Then it's back to workin' in TV and movies. :0D The TV season will be back in full strength, so I'll have steady work.

Well not much else to update, things are just movin' along at a steady pace. :0)

If I let you see me, if I let you hear me
If I let you smell me, if I let you taste me
Then what will you feel?

Moving for me seems to be like..a three week process. Even after I move all my furniture and boxes and whatnot, I still take forever to unpack them and get everything "home-y" again. Like just this weekend I hung up posters and put away the boxes that had littered my bedroom floor for a few weeks. I am the king of procrastination it seems. :0P

I spent last week with Rachel. She makes my day, my week, my month, my year...my life... a better place to be. I miss her so incredibly much, that I physically feel a void inside of me when she's gone. I'll see her next week for a few days as she comes down to go to court for her speeding ticket she got on a previous visit. She's also going to be checking out some roommate possibilities down in the LA area while she's here, as she may move here next month or so. :0D

I bought a fan at Sears the other day. It has a remote control!! :0) Just knowing that I can sit in my computer chair five feet away from the fan and make it oscillate with the click of my remote makes it worth the purchase. :0P My only problem is that it's "Silent Force Blade Technology".. meaning it's supposed to be quiet, right? Hmm, I guess I put it together wrong, cuz mine makes an annoying noise. Black and Decker is probably laughing at me right now, saying "Hahaha, we'll make millions off of suckers thinking there's such a thing as a silent fan! HA!" Oh well, I will fix it, I know what's wrong. :0)

I get to sleep in tomorrow as it's my day off, and maybe even wednesday too, but we'll see. Thursday I must go to the Jonathan Town Club and re-certify my CPR. I thought about just taking the test instead of the class, but I'm getting paid training, so I might as well just take a refresher course. :0) Then Friday I get to sleep in before the storm, as Saturday is the start of working full-time doing Youth Recreation at the Beach Club. Ohhhh I can't wait. :0P

I'll update again tomorrow. <3

I'll let you be in my dream
if I can be in yours.

Well all your questions can be answered now. I'm not dead. I wasn't kidnapped (well I sorta was), and I haven't been lazy...I actually have real weighty excuses for not updating recently.

It all starts off with my ex-roommate Kain, turning off our phone (which includes my DSL) on the day after he moved out, which was 2 weeks before Tyrico and I moved out. So we were a bit upset about this, but we got him to turn it back on until the 31st so we could at least have a phone.

This left me without the internet for a bit, but that's fine. Rachel came down and surprised me! She stayed for a few days before I started work at my new job, which has been going nicely. It's a blessing to see the ocean all day while you're at "work", playing random games with kids in the sand. :0) The time I spend with Rachel is so precious to me, because I constantly feel like it's never enough. It's a scary, but good feeling as odd as that sounds. When I'm around her I just...I...feel...more. Of everything. :0D

So, I have since moved to North Hollywood, just this last weekend, and we finally got our phoneline setup the other day, which marked my triumphant return to the internet. Oh joy! :0P My DSL will be hooked back up next week, and I'll be able to get off this blasted dial-up for at least another 6 months (when I plan on moving again). Tyrico ended up not finding a place of his own, and asked if he could live with us (myself and Danielle) and we of course agreed, and he moved his stuff in with us last weekend, but then he disappeared, and on monday morning his stuff had disappeared from his room. He decided against living here, which really upset us, because he owed rent, and he didn't say anything to us..he just sorta snuck his stuff out. :0( Lame.

But later that day, this girl and her mother called, asking about the ad Danielle had put in the paper a week earlier. So they came and saw the room, and talked to us for a bit..and presto, we have a new roommate named Jennifer! :0) She's 18, just graduated high school in Ohio, drove out here just last weekend to gain residency in California so she can go to UCLA for the cheaper resident rate, and needed to find a place quickly before her mother flew back to where she lives on friday...in Puerto Rico. :0)

So everything actually worked out. Weird. Rachel says things just seem to happen for me, without much effort.

I say things...just happen.

May the Force be with you.

So if you noticed the photo of the day today, I went and saw Star Wars: Episode II 'Attack of the Clones', and I had a wonderful time. Take note of the ticket. I bought it at 1.43pm, for the 2pm show. Weird. The Paseo Colorado mall is pretty much unknown to the rest of Los Angeles. Granted, it was a show during the day, and I do expect them to have more business tonight and the rest of the weekend. But wow. I didn't stand in line one bit. The theater was semi-packed, so at least it was good to know people were going to see it.

This Episode definitely redeemed the series, after Phantom was a disappointment to say the least. (I still enjoyed it, that's the weird thing...so how was it a disappointment? Jar-Jar, and a stupid boy, that's how.)

If you had doubts about the Star Wars series, fear no more. This kicked ass. I drooled the whole time, and there were many times where the theater exploded into cheers and applause. :0) And as a mark of a true nerd, I went to it by myself. :0D I'll probably go again, with a friend this time. :0P

Anyway, Danielle and I got that 3 bed, 2 bathroom apartment in No-Ho, so her worries of finding a place is over. I'm a bit upset that I have to sign a 6-month lease. I told her I'd move after 6 months, because I do not want to make No-Ho my home. I'll be moving at the end of the month, but I'll probably pack a few things over there before then so I don't have to haul so much in one day.

Breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep
this air is blessed, you share with me.

Danielle and I found this three bedroom, two bath place in No-Ho (North Hollywood, for you non so cali's, (southern californian's for you non...uh. nevermind.)) and it's.. ok. My mom gave me the advice... that I had been spoiled living in Pasadena in a really nice, big, cool place like this apartment. So, everything I look at will be sub-par to what I'm used to. So yeah, I can see her point. But I just want to find something at least.. close to equal. I know other nice places are out there. We just have to look hard and fast for one.

Anyway, I gave the go ahead to try to get this 3 bedroom place, and we're just waiting to hear back. She was supposed to get word about it today, but it hasn't happened yet. Not sure, but that could be a bad sign.

I told Danielle to also get her money back from the tiny "New York style" apartment, as I don't want to see myself living there as some backup plan. I'm confident we'll find a place by the 19th (what Danielle has paid up to, to live in her place she's at) and now Tyrico has joined WestSideRentals.com and I paid Ty $10 bucks to use it for the next week until we find some place. :0) That should make it easier, WSR's has a lot of good finds. It's just a matter of getting to them before someone else does.

I've been downloading a lot of good music lately, so if you want to hear a little bit of what I like, here's some of my favorites from the recently downloaded mp3's, go check 'em out:

For all of us there is a beginning.
For most of us, that beginning is our Mothers.

Well my weekend with Rachel (or "weekend plus", as I would like to call it. She was here since Thursday, and left today.), was as wonderful as I could have imagined. She does something to me, that ignites this playful, "i'm a kid again" attitude that I haven't had for awhile. When you're growing up, and worried about paying this, or working on that, you forget about just being silly and careless. You forget about how alive it can make you feel. :0)

We went to Santa Monica, walked around on the beach, had lunch, and spent time in rush hour traffic. The latter didn't bother me at all, because... time didn't matter. I was in no rush to be somewhere. I wasn't angry at how slow traffic was moving. It all didn't matter. I was too wrapped into the moment; wrapped into her.

We hung out here in the apartment, playing games, and watching tv. (maybe a little kissing, too) We didn't always have to be going somewhere or doing something to enjoy ourselves. Most of our time was spent sleeping, next to each other, and everything was alright. :0)

She left an hour ago. (I miss you.)

-------

Ok. So as far as non-Rachel stuff is concerned... the place Danielle found for us, is tiny. SUPER SMALL. So I have insisted that we at least TRY and find another place before just commiting to this one. I have looked up at least 9 places that sound bigger and nicer than what she had chosen. She only wants the place because it's "cute, and cheap." Yah well, Danielle, cute and cheap doesn't have to be CRAMPED and OLD. I swear my bedroom was the size of a large walk-in closet. The place had NO ammenities. The only neat thing about it was that it had hardwood floors. That's it! BLAH! So we have 'til this wednesday to find another place before commiting to this tiny "New York style" apartment. (We don't live in New York, Danielle..let's get a California style one, please.) Wish us luck!

And on a final note. Happy Mothers' Day, Mom. I love you, and thank you for helping me follow my dreams. You and Dad are the best parents a kid could ask for. Keep up the good work! ;0)

Standing on the Edge of Summer,
and I'm not afraid to jump.

Yes, I'll save you from the "i haven't blogged in awhile" apology. I'm just lazy.

So I saw Spider-man. Very entertaining movie, I liked the nerdy Tobey McGuire as Peter Parker. He did a fine job. I felt like Green Goblin could have been played better. It was as if William Defoe took the whole thing as a joke, like he didn't really care about the role that much. Definitely not one of the great superhero-villian performances like Jack as The Joker in Batman. Anyway, that's my quick synopsis.

Now, what's been goin' on? Well TV season has died off, and that leaves me without much employment. I submitted my resume last week to a few places to earn some income for the summer. I was contacted by all of them. :0D So I interviewed, and I have decided between the two places who wish to hire me.

It was a fairly easy choice. Job #1 is working with children at a rich beach club resort in Santa Monica. So basically it's playing games with kids on the beach all summer and getting paid for it. Job #2 was technical support for a domain name registration company.

Pretty easy choice. Especially since both are paying about the same, and in fact I'll be working MORE hours at job #1 (which is a good thing) than I would be at job #2. Now job #1 doesn't really start until June 22nd or around there, when kids are done with school. But, I do sort of start on Memorial day weekend, which is the 25th of this month. Then I work every weekend until the little tikes get out of school, and then it's full time fun! :0D

Now, the other news that I haven't fully stated, is that I met this amazing girl in San Francisco, and she will be here spending time with me this weekend starting tomorrow.

I think I'll just leave it at that, because some things don't need explaination. :0)

I will post more entries this month, I promise. <3

I listen to the wind, to the wind of my soul.

Again, sorry for the lame updating, blah blah blah.

My weekend in San Francisco was amazingly cool, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. :0D

It was one of those things that was covered in magic, filled with love, threaded with laughter, and wrapped in happiness.

Sometimes things happen in such a way you can't explain them, and events occur that you can't control, and the only thing you can do is sit back and let it happen. I feel that's what I've been doing the past few weeks. It has been wonderful. :0)

So I guess I could actually write about something other than the above mysterious strange stuff. :0P

Kain is moving out and going back to Minnesota to go to school next fall. He's putting in his 1 month notice. Tyrico may be moving out as well, either into Estevan's when he goes away to boot camp, or into his own place. This leaves me in this situation of moving out, or staying and finding two new roommates. Now if i could find roommates I knew, that'd be great, but I'm not so sure about having total strangers move in. I mean, I guess I've done it before, but whatever. That doesn't always work out. Although, neither does living with friends always work out for the best. Kain and I used to be really good buds, always hanging out. But living together has put many stresses on our friendship, so now we hardly ever see each other. :0/ Tyrico and I didn't really know each other THAT well before we lived together, but we're good buds now. So living situations are just strange I guess.

Blah. Who wants to be my new roommates? :0P

With the TV season winding down for the summer, I need to find a normal job to:
A) help my survival efforts; i.e.: food, dr. pepper,
B) pay rent,
C) keep me in California.

Anyone live in the LA area need a goofy (looking) struggling actor? I can send you my resume.

Expect more updates soon(er).

You're just another broken charm

My oh my. I am finding it harder and harder for myself to update my journal. What's the deal with that?! I apologize folks, I'll try to step up and cut down on the lag times between journal entries. I need to get out there and take pictures of springtime. :0D

The 10th and 11th I'll be working on the season finale' of ANGEL, so I shall be rewarded handsomely I shall hope. (Overtime on sets are the best, mainly because it ends up being a lot of money made for just sitting around waiting to do something.)

I got my car all serviced today. Jiffy Lube. Took about 50 minutes. Jiffy my ass! I want to go to San Fran sometime soon. I feel like there's something there, that I would enjoy seeing. We'll see how plans work out, but I'd like to go within the next two weeks. Just spend a weekend there with friends. Yah, that'd be cool.

Oh, and speaking of Jiffy, I LOVE Jiffy Pop. Isn't that the best popcorn ever?! I love holding it over the stove and shaking it and shaking it...and...

Oh man, where is this journal entry going?

To bed...as I should be doing.

Night!

This is not an exit.

So apparently I was on Entertainment Tonight and CSI in the same night! Pretty spiffy! They showed the scene where we're running that dude to the ambulence on ET as a preview of the episode. :0D My parents had to tell me about that one, I didn't see it for myself. But still pretty cool!

I watched the episode on tape because I was working on ANGEL all day Wednesday and Thursday. So thanks to Tyrico for recording it for me. I pretty much knew the whole story, so I just kept pointing myself out throughout the episode. Hehe.

Anyway, I'm going to be upgrading my computer soon with a new motherboard and cpu!! Woo hoo! I'm thinking of getting a BioStar mobo, and an AMD XP 1800+ 1.53ghz processor. :0D My mobo and cpu right now, are circa 1998, which is ancient for computer parts. I should take them to an antique shop and sell them. Anyone want an AMD K6-2 300mhz?

No? Didn't think so. :0P

Deception occurs when you are divided,
Truth appears when you are whole.

Well the filming for "Old School" wrapped on Sunday. I won't go into too much detail, but that was the best St. Patrick's Day I've ever had. Imagine Snoop Dogg performing for our small house party, with Warren G on the turntables; Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell dancin' and partyin' with us while we wait for Snoop for over an hour so we could shoot one of the takes, and people like John Favreau, Andy Dick, and the guy who played Ralphie in 'A Christmas Story' (he's a producer now) stopping by to hang out on the set.

Okay, I'll stop name dropping now, but it was all just so weird! I was the only 'punk rock' dude at the house party scene, everyone was dressed in A&F clothes. They asked me to wear my plaid pants, then they gave me this badass worn in authentic black leather jacket, with "Misfits" emblazoned across the top on the back, and the Misfits skull painted on, with "The Damned" on one sleeve, all these other old school punk bands lettered elsewhere, and autographs from band members all over it. I wanted to steal it, badly.

*sigh*

Update for today:

I'm working on "Old School" again this weekend. Should be fun. This time filming is close by over in Glendale, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I received my state tax refund today, woo hoo! $216.00 bucks! Also received my check today for working on "Old School" last weekend. :0P

Next weekend I'm invited to see a play in Hollywood called "Unholy Matrimony", apparently their lead actor will be leaving the show, and they want someone to replace him. They're actually going to consider me. :0P

This could be very cool.

Tao's power is sound.

Argh. Right it's like after 5am here and what the hell am I doing awake?! I'm a freakin' insomniac I tell ya. Okay, so I was going to go to sleep, but then I decided "Hey, it's 5am, I should just stay awake and enjoy actual daylight." So I'm here now, and I don't think I'm going to accomplish that. I've fixed my sleeping schedule like that once or twice before, by staying awake until 9-10pm so you can wake up at a decent time the next day. But no, looks like I'm going to fail, because my eyes are slowly closing as I write this. :0/ Anyway...

So I did a scene in a movie called "Old School" last weekend, and that was pretty cool. I'm in a scene with Will Ferrell, Jeremy Piven, and Luke Wilson. Oh boy was it hilarious. Ahhh you'll just have to see the movie.. not sure of a release date. Dreamworks is the production company. :0D

I ran into Gwenyth Paltrow as I was walking to the craft service table to get a Dr. Pepper. (Nothing gets in my way, not even A list celebrities!!) Haha. Okay, so I was walking, and there were people outside and such, and I was walking past her, as this other dude was walking past me on the other side of me, and I did this 'sidestep squeeze by' move, so as not to run into them, and I touched Gwenyth on the arm and said "excuse me, sorry.." so she knew I was behind her and didn't back up into me or something. You know, being curteous.

The thing is, I didn't *know* it was Gwenyth Paltrow until AFTER I walked passed her. I wasn't even looking at people, I was just focusing in on the Dr. Pepper in my mind. So, yes I fantasized that she was like "Wow, that guy didn't even want to talk to me...how mysterious.. I must find out more!". I mean, she probably WAS thinking that I was coming up to her to say "excuse me, sorry.. I really love your work, I think you're like.. an amazing actress and stuff.." blah blah blah. Instead.. I just walked away!

I make them want me. *evil cackle*

Actually I just wanted a Dr. Pepper, screw Gwenyth. :0D

It's like waking.
It's like you just woke up...

Wow, I finally got my W-2 from Student Advantage (whom some may know bought CollegeClub.com when it went bankrupt), it seems they were sending it to all my old addresses in San Diego, so it took awhile for the mail to get passed around before I finally contacted them and told them where I live so they could get it straight.

Anyway, I used "TurboTax on the Web" to do my taxes, just as I did last year. I feared I would owe some, but it turns out I'll get a nice little return. :0D Getting money back is always good news, I'm sure you're all aware of that.

Federal return: $348.00
State return: $216.00

Yippee! I shouldn't be waiting too long to get the return either!

I wish I had something witty to say about all of this, but I really don't.

Work with fate.

So I'm finally done filming on C.S.I.! That show is amazing to work on, I'm so glad I had the opportunity! I ended up being there for 5 whole days of filming instead of the 4 I was told. You will definitely see me a lot in this episode, so be sure to watch, it's going to be awesome! The set was amazingly cool, and the people were really nice to work with.

It's even possible I'll be coming back as a regular. We'll see! Keep your fingers crossed! ;0)

I encourage all of my friends to write letters to CBS after the show airs (March 28th) and ask about the sexy paramedic! Tell them you want me back on the show! Tell all your friends to watch, and their friends, and their friends friends...etc, etc. Then my episode could be the most watched episode of C.S.I. EVER! muah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Okay, anyway, I have things to do and people to see this weekend, now that I'm no longer on a grueling filming schedule. Bye for now!

When blessings mature,
One glimpses the source.

Sorry for the extreme lag in updating. I've been fairly busy with things.

I passed up casting on X-Files because I needed my own single-breasted suit, and there was no way I could find one in time before filming the next day. I had no money to buy one, not even at a thrift store. Oh well.

The good news though, is that today I was cast on C.S.I.! I will be doing a 4 day stint on the show, as a paramedic. I don't have all the details yet, but 4 days of filming for one episode is pretty big! Weeeeee!

It was just yesterday that I saw a really cool paramedic uniform at the thrift store that I wanted to buy, and now, I'm playing one on TV. :0D

Tyrico auditioned for the gameshow Street Smarts and he got in! Hope he wins some money! He also has an audition for a Pepsi commercial, awesome! It's really exciting around here right now, so I can't really think of anything that's been going on.

I hope you're all doing well! Life is good! :0)

Is the force of life itself.

Today we signed up to Central Casting. Pretty cool.

Hey look at that, I'm already cast in something.

"X-Files" next Wednesday I do believe. Woot. More to come later! (such as, Ally McBeal, and Roswell, to name a few.) :0P

Estevan was cast in "Providence" while he was standing RIGHT there getting his picture taken. Cool! Time to be makin' some mIZZoney!

My friend Danielle is in a pop "band" (I think bands play instruments). Sort of like PopStars/PopStars 2. There are three guys, and three girls. Oi vey. Danielle is very talented, and I'm glad she's doing something...but a pop-band? Oh well. I might as well make their first fan website and maybe make some money off like...anything I can steal from Danielle's underwear drawer. HAH.

At approximately 5.45pm Pacific Standard Time, I received 1(one) email from previously mentioned girl, in which words such as "cutie", and "sweetie" were used and phrases such as "you are so thoughtful" were also used.

Well so far, I haven't heard from previously mentioned girl. It's okay. I'm calm. She has 7 hours left in this day. I have faith.

Anyway, how badass is it that Lord Of the Rings got thirteen Oscar noms!?! It earned every single one of those. I can't wait until the next one.

Today Ty and I went over to a Tux shop to get our measurements done. We need them for the Central Casting thing we're going to tomorrow morning, only I didn't really want to tell the Tux guy that. So I said we were going to a wedding in another state and we needed our measurements done because I was the best man, etc, etc. He said it would just be a few minutes, as he helped another customer.

So we waited, and Ty made comments like "why do I feel like running away? Did you major in deceit in college?". All the while saying it loud enough so the guy could hear, so I tried to make it sound like we were talking about something else. I was like "whatever, you're the one macking on two guys at once, trying to ruin a relationship...shame on you. Deceitful."

Hah. Anyway, we got measured and all is good.

Second update for the day.

I became slightly bored this evening waiting for Smallville to start, and I downloaded Bel Biv Devo - Do Me.

I know, I'm takin' it back old school. Check these lyrics out.

the time was 6 o'clock on the swatch watch / no time to chill, got a date, can't be late / hey, the girl is gonna do me / move to the jacuzzi / oo that booty / smack it up, flip it, rub it down / ohh nooooo

Okay, my favorite part is "6 o'clock on the swatch watch".

I mean, wow! They were blingin' it back then! A swatch watch! Bling bling! :0P

And how can you forget "smack it up, flip it, rub it down"! Classic lyrics!

Imagination can build bridges,
Dreams can deceive.

When you go to get your haircut, you share a common bond of trust with the barber. You trust that they will cut your hair so as not to look like "a bear's butt". You confide in their expertise, with the knowledge that they hold in their head, to not butcher your hair to bits.

Today that trust was breached.

She destroyed it. And she knows it too.

You'd think that when you go in there, you can expect to not get a lawnmower taken to your head. She straight up took a weed-wacker to it!

I went in and said "I just want a trim." Doesn't this mean just a little snip here, a little snip there? She cleaned up the sides with a razor just fine, but what did she do to the top of my head?! I walked in with a spikey hair-do, yet after she was done cutting my hair she said "I don't know how you style your hair...". WHAT?! Did you not SEE that you were cutting SPIKEY HAIR when you STARTED!

I calmly said "I wear it spikey."

"Oh? Spikey..do you want me to cut it spikey?" she said.

"Umm...yes?"

So she snipped away again.

Realize that during this whole time she had been cutting my hair, she had me averted away from the mirror. I couldn't see at all what she was doing. I should have known she was doing so for a reason. That was the first sign, and I missed it.

After all was done, she didn't even brush the little hairs off my neck or face or anything!

I paid with my bankcard, and she rang up the price of the cut, and then when I looked at receipt I noticed there was no place for a tip.

"Oh, where do I put the tip?" I said.

"Oh whoops, you should have told me beforehand. You know what, don't worry about it." she said.

"Okay, I won't."

I think she knew of the horrible thing she had done, which is why it was so easy for me to get out of tipping her.

But you know what? It's not that bad. I can live with it, my hair grows fast.

I'll just buy a hat.

You breathe,
Frosting mountains white,
Exciting trees to verdant flame,
Dancing sparrows on your wing,
Swirling waves into long sighs.
You breathe,
And all things live.

Whenever I let my facial hair grow out a little, I feel more and more lazy. Even the slightest bit of a shadow and I have an air about me that just makes me feel lazy. And when you're like me and your facial hair grows faster than George Bush running this country into debt, then you're lazy all the time. (Okay, so I can't grow facial hair that fast.) Well I'm clean shaven right now, and I feel very productive. I've been wanting to make stuff, do stuff, and accomplish things all day long.

I've brainstormed and I've pondered. Imagined and pontificated. Speculated and deliberated.

But I still haven't decided.

We'll see though.

In other news, Tyrico and I are going to Central Casting this week to sign up. Basically they handle a ton of casting of extras for almost anything and everything in this city. It's not something you want to get stuck into doing, but hey, it's easy money right now. You pretty much call in on whatever day you want to go work, and they give you a few options on where you want to be an extra at, then you go, spend a day on the set doing whatever, and get paid $100 bucks for your work. Simple enough.

I'm going to be adding an "About" section soon, because some people have expressed interest in knowing more about me and my background. Wow, what a bunch of weirdos.

Sleepless nights.
Diet, mind, conditions
Hold the possibility of correction.

So last night was the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics! This thing was four hours long! Why the hell did I watch it all?

Well, I didn't go out last night like I had hoped. Zoe' was too tired, so she just wanted to clean her apartment and go to sleep. So I just sat at home, as did my roommates, and we all just watched the ceremonies.

We had to keep ourselves entertained. So we made our own commentary. No, I'm sorry, Katie Couric and Bob Costas were not enough.

Although Bob was quite humorous. He kept cutting off Katie whenever she said something, and he even started saying something during the national anthem! Like he just thought of some "real good" line, and he just had to say it before he forgot it. Picture it, the national anthem is being sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the flag from the World Trade Center is being held out, and Bob Costas goes "It's twenty degrees here in Salt Lake...", and then probably some producer is yelling in Bob's earpiece "NOT NOW! QUICK, CUT BOB'S MIC!". You know he had it all planned out, because after the anthem was over, he said the exact same words. "It's twenty degrees here in Salt Lake, but that's not what is causing the goose bumps." What the f*ck?! He also made some comment during the whole performance deal that cracked us up; "It's never a good thing to be chased by giant icicles." Haha! Oh really?!

Most of the time, we had imagined with all the hyped up security they had snipers posted all over the place. Not controlled by any federal enforcement agency, but controlled by NBC. This way they could take care of anyone who messed up during the performances.

*sniper radio* "The little girl fell down while skating, take her out! Now..NOW!!" *sniper shoots paralyzing dart and takes out little girl*

"Shoot those fools playing with their flashlights in the audience!"

Or when Sting and Yo-yo Ma performed, I imagined that weird looking dude that backs-up Sting in "Desert Rose" comes running out on the ice.

"Sting! Sting! You forgot about me! What about me?! Ohhhh desert rose..ohhh ohhh ooooo aaaaaa ooooooo! OOohhh ohhh oooo OO ohhh!!"

"Quick! Take him out! Take him out now!!", Sting screams.

Gain wisdom beyond right and wrong.

That's the book I'm currently reading. A quote:

"At least fifty punks were living at the Canterbury. You'd walk into the courtyard and there'd be a dozen different punk songs all playing at the same time. It was an incredible environment." -Belinda Carlisle

Wow, that must have been an awesome time! This book so far is very interesting, straight from the mouths of the scenesters, zinesters, groupies, filmmakers, and musicians who were there! Badass!

Anyway, the house is in focus. We're all concentrating on making something happen this year. If we concentrate, and put all our effort into it, it will happen. We won't be held back. Tyrico is determined to get into a Soap Opera. Best of luck to him! He'll do it.

I on the other hand, have my focus on getting the lead in a movie. Independent, student, major motion picture... I don't care! I want the lead in something! And I'm going to get it this year! This is my year, the year of the snake.

I'm going to do this. And you'll be here for the ride!

One thing I enjoy is a nice room-temperature Dr. Pepper. Most everyone who knows me, knows this little fact about me. I don't drink Dr. Pepper when it's ice cold. I prefer to keep my cans in the cupboard, and not in the fridge. I don't really know why, I guess it's because the warmth of the soda gives it more bite. :0P

You know the Dr. Pepper commercial with Garth Brooks? Well there's a really strange looking old man in it, and a lot of people are wondering who the hell he is, and why the hell he's in the commercial? And once you take notice of the old man, I don't really think you can watch the commercial again and actually pay attention to the star of the commercial. Your gaze is focused on the just-off-camera clips of this creepy old man. So I ask:

Yah! Go Patriots!!! (okay so I was secretly rooting for them to win, they were the underdog!)

So the commercials were okay, not as memorable as some in the past. And the Government paid for commercials were... I dunno. Lost? I mean, I remember seeing them; something about terrorists, something about drug money. But it all flew across the screen so fast, that the meaning wasn't really there. That's how I felt at least.

The Britney Spears Pepsi Generation commercials were less than amazing.

I remember the ETrade commercial from last year, with the dot-com ghost city. That was classic. So I was a bit worried with what they were doing this year. That whole song and dance number confused me at first. I just thought "What are they doing? When does this get funny?" And then it did! Ahh, that was too good!

Anyway, go Patriots!

Prey passes the tiger who
Sometimes merely looks,
Sometimes pounces without hesitation,
But never fails to act.

SNL tonight was okay. Britney Spears hosting and musical guest. Some of the funniest SNL skits in the recent past, haven't even really been that funny. But it's because someone loses character, starts laughing or something when they're not supposed to...that makes it funny. And I've started to think SNL is planning it this way. Ever notice that all the character-breaks take place when Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon are both in the same scene? It's always because Horatio Sanz is being idiotic with his character, and Jimmy can't hold the laughter in.

And it's official, Tyrico just walked in from being at a friend's house watching SNL, and he said "it was tired.", meaning he did not like it. That's big words from a big Britney Spears fan. :0P

So tomorrow (later today) is the Superbowl, and I'm not really rooting for any team. I'm looking forward to the Government commercials that are going to air during the game. What's the deal with that?!

They'd better be funny, that's all I know!

A tree hemmed in by giants
Requires tenacity to survive.

Nothing too much occured Friday.

Of course it was Globalgasm day, and I've never participated, nor shall I ever... unless I had a partner to do it with. But I stopped in 15 minutes prior to when the whole shebang started, because I knew John would be in there preparing or whatnot. And that he was. I enjoy John's spirit. It's very similar to mine in most ways. Carefree, loving, exciting. Hard not to be drawn to someone like that. I'm glad I know him and worked with him, because he makes life more interesting in doing and having done so.

Anyhow, I wished everyone a Happy pre-gasm, and had to leave because our smoke alarm was goin' off like crazy and wouldn't stop. Not that I had to get on the floor and crawl to get under the smoke or anything, but I did notice a cloudy mix to the air as I opened my bedroom door. *cough cough* Kain's cooking again.

In other news, I'm going to bed.

Tradition was once function.
But today there is no tradition.
Where is there a true path?

Tonight Tyrico and I went to see Brotherhood of the Wolf.

I'm not going to spoil it for those who want to see it still, but I'll just say the previews make it look "cool" when in fact it's really "long and boring with only a few cool parts." Hehe. And I don't mind subtitles, after the first 5 minutes of the film, I forget that I'm even reading them. But, I really wish I could have just known french and understood everything without having to focus on the lower half of the screen the whole time. :0P

Ty and I also called the MTV show "Dismissed" today, because we both said we'd go on it, why not? And think about it, even if we don't get on the show, there are a ton of single people there at the open call who won't get on it either. So if we're standing in line forever and we don't get any phone numbers, then we deserve to get dismissed. :0P

I just want to date two girls at once.

Chill morning, stone steps.
The path to the temple is steep.
We may stumble at times,
But we must always get up again.

I've updated every bit of software I possibly can on my computer since getting DSL. Game patches, new versions, security fixes galore! A few new programs I didn't have before as well, such as a firewall...which anyone with an "always-on" connection should have. I feel so much safer now. :0P

I've had visions of hooking my Sony Wega flatscreen tv up to my computer, and using it as my monitor. Wouldn't that be sweet?! Of course, I'd have to wait to move out, or someone would have to buy a new tv, because my tv is the center-piece of the living room hooked up to the digital cable and the Xbox.

I'm in dire need of a new mother board and processor, so as soon as I get my finances all straightened out, maybe I can invest in one. My 300mhz AMD K6-2 is barely cutting it. All these new games, and software out there requiring 500mhz or more as a minimum requirement! Bah!

Anyone in Los Angeles looking for a roommate in the near future? Preferably closer to the beach? :0)

Trust the gods within,
Accept given boons.
Illusion is reality's border:
Pierce fear to go beyond.

It's getting close to the time where I need to get some new headshots done. My hair has grown to a length I'm happy with, I just need to go have it cleaned up a bit. Then I'll schedule an appointment with the photographer. We'll discuss his vision, of how he wants these photos to look. We'll discuss price, time, location, etc. I want to get it all out of the way and get something done.

Kinda helps when I'm the photographer.

Yes I take my own headshots. At least for now. I'm talented enough, I've done it in the past. It's worked well.

I take the photos, I go to kinkos and have whichever one printed out on photo quality paper, then I go to a place like Ray the Retoucher and have lithos made by the hundreds. Total cost to me? About $70.00. Better than paying $300 a roll with one of Hollywood's photographers. It gets the job done.

Yes, I can be a penny-pincher.

Which is strange, given my credit history.

Though life is a dream,
Act as if it isn't.
Act with no weight.

Well I can't think of much to write about, so I thought I'd share some special days coming up!

January 29th: It's Oprah Winfrey's birthday! If you're going to buy her a gift, here's a hint...she likes sweatpants with elastic waistbands.

January 30th: The Beatles' last public appearance was on this day in 1969. Hmm... if only there were some sort of merchandise we could buy, you know, to remind us of them.

February 1st: The beginning of American Heart Month. Now, Foreign hearts can go screw themselves as far as I'm concerned.

February 2nd: National Men's Grooming Day. Ride that bidet like a champion! Or ride a groundhog. It's Groundhog Day, too.

February 4th: It's Torture Abolition Day. Have you tortured someone today? Well, traditionally, you should really wait until tomorrow.

February 5th: It's National School Counseling Week. Tell teens you can't get pregnant if you do it standing up.

February 6th: National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Uh... this is for cheerleaders, right?

Well I hope that helps you plan out how to spend these wonderful holidays!

After completion
Come new beginnings.

Alright, here we go.

I made a new design, did you notice? Just a tad different, don't you think?

Anyway, still making minor updates to it, but first I'll let it get settled in.

Since getting DSL, I've been zooming around the internet like I used to back when I worked at CollegeClub, taking full advantage of the T1 connection there. I've downloaded a ton of mp3s, some updates to some games (a 75 megabyte file in 8 minutes, woo!), and playing Half-Life online getting my ass kicked.

I'm in love with my DSL.
I want to marry my DSL and have lots of broadband babies.

Hmm...I need more Dr. Pepper.

Poor Jenny never learned to read.

Hilly village lanes,
Whitewashed sunlit walls.
Cerulean sea.
The laughter of children.

Today I was rewarded with a precious gift. The gift of high-speed internet, from my dear old friend...Me! :0P

So it's nice to be back in the world of fast download speeds of porn, err, I mean files and such. Speaking of porn, I saw a job listing, where all you do is watch porn and enter some info into some database. "Get paid to watch porn...no seriously." was the headline.

I received a called from a business called Oxelis, it seemed like a very exciting start-up. They were calling to get to know me, as we had a 15 minute semi-interview over the phone. They said they'd call back here in awhile and let me know about coming in for a formal interview. I'd actual be an "Animator" at their company if I get the job. Cool, huh?!

I'm gonna go watch cartoons to hone my skills. :0P

A day at The Huntington was just what I needed.

City on a hill,
Untouched land beyond.
A fallow field is
The secret of fertility.

After all the stress, and frustration I've been having recently, I spent the whole day walking around The Huntington.

It was very peaceful, and I got some great shots that I'm sure will be shared on Blogtography in the future. Hey look, there's one for today even! :0P

Unbeknownst to me, The Huntington was practically in my backyard. A short 5 minute drive down a few side streets here in Pasadena, and I soon ended up in the San Marino city limits. And there in front of me were these large gates, welcoming me into The Huntington.

You'll notice I like to say "The Huntington" a lot, and that I like capitalizing both words. That's because a place so beautiful deserves the respect of capital letters. Not only were all the gardens magnificent, but inside the art galleries and the library, were some gorgeous works. The library had such things as first edition shakespeare books, hand-written essays from Walt Whitman, and charts hand-written by George Washington. I wanted to take so many photos, but spent most of my time just being in awe of it all. It was really quite peaceful.

I didn't realize I was taking it for granted for so long. There's so many things out there we take for granted. This has made me want to adventure more to other areas of Los Angeles and Southern California.

I might live here, but there's no shame in being a tourist as well.

Just as long as I don't wear a hawaiian shirt and shorts with knee high socks.

Although I'm a day late, I'd like to wish my brother Chris, a happy, happy birthday. And yes, I am the fat baby.

Clearing blue sky,
A promise in bare branches.
In winter, there are sunny days.
In adulthood, childhood can return.

Okay, enough people yelled at me to update my journal, that I might as well do it. :0P Sorry for the delay, I've been concentrating on other things.

I meant to post yesterday, so that I could send well wishes to my brother, Chris, on his 27th birthday but I got sidetracked. So today will have to do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG BROTHER!

I wish you the best in life, and all it has to offer. Make your mark in the world, I know you have the brains, and the talent to do so. Good luck. Love ya!

And so anyway, I don't have much to talk about. Oh, 'cept for the fact I'm getting DSL on Tuesday!! Woo! Self-install baby! Funny though, they still sent me a modem and all the equipment, which I didn't order. So I called (after contemplating on if I should tell them they sent me this, or just wait and keep it to see if they billed me for it) and got everything straightened out. Turns out they were going to bill me for it, but all is well, I get refunded once I ship it back to them on their dime.

Oh, how I have missed DSL since I last had it 2 years ago. This is a reunion long in the making! :0P

Rah! So I was supposed to go with Ty yesterday to Shi Ne's birthday bar-hopping, but I didn't because I was tired. What the hell?! I was tired?! Apparently they went to the Saddleranch and saw not only Jerry O'Connell... yes, fat kid from "Stand By Me" ... but a few minutes later HUGH HEFNER and his 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 Playboy Bunny girlfriends walk in!! I MISSED HUGH HEFNER!! His chicks rode the mechanical bull there, while he took pictures, and then I guess they left? I dunno. Anyway, I wanna wear PJ's all day like Hef someday. How cool is that?!

I've been playing a lot of Xbox lately, what a great Xmas gift from my parents! (THANK YOU!) I am addicted to NFL Fever 2002! Best Football game ever! I'm playing the 25 season Dynasty mode. I own the Seahawks, and I moved them to Boise, Idaho. HAHA! I won the Superbowl my first year too! Talk about great drafting and signing free agents!! I rule!

I guess it should be called Fantasy Dynasty mode...because really!?

The Seahawks winning the Superbowl? Please!

Thunder and rain at night.

Well it's about 5.30am right now. What's the deal with me being awake so late? I am up 'til about 7am the past few days, and then I sleep until 2 or 3pm.

Well today, I had a plan. Of course I knew I would catch a lot of flack from my roommates, but I decided to sleep in. Even more.

Okay so I didn't go to bed the night before until 6am. I slept until 6pm tonight. Amazing, huh?!? I know, you're asking why. So my plan is to stay awake until Sunday night, then go to bed at a normal time, and then wake up Monday morning at a normal time. Seems like a fast way to adjust a sleeping schedule, but I'm gonna try to pull it off.

Do you think it can be done? We'll see.

So anyhow, tonight I went out. By myself. That's a first in a long time. But none of my roommates wanted to come with me, so I went out alone. I was bored!

I hit up the 35er and played pool and chatted with the bartender girl there, whom I normally talk to when I go. Old Towne was pretty slow, so after a few drinks I took off. I think it was nice to get away from the people I live with actually. So I'm kinda glad I went alone.

I certainly do need some other people to hang out with soon, or I'm going to go crazy!

My friend Chrissy is moving to LA, but she only hangs out with herself. How selfish! :0P

Share, Chrissy! SHARE!!

Colorado Blvd at night, after the Rose Parade, 1/1/2002.

This is the moment of embarking.
All auspicious signs are in place.

HooHaaa! First posting of the New Year!

Did everyone make it through last night okay?

Kain and I partied with some friends that stopped by for a bit, then around 11.20pm we ran (walked very fast) down to Old Towne Pasadena, where we tried getting into Moose's because our friend Tryg works there. Too bad he wasn't there. Plus it was $30 dollars to get in! BAH!

With little time to spare, we jolted over to the 35er, where there was also a cover charge, but because we're regulars, we just walked in for free. All ya gotta do is shake the bouncers hand, and keep walking through. :0P

So with but a few seconds to spare, we got our drinks before midnight, and toasted the new year! (My first drink of the new year? A Guiness.)

I was up until about 7am, trying to persuade myself to go to the Rose Parade, but alas, I take things for granted and went to sleep. I thought to myself "Ahh, there will be another Rose Parade next year, I'll go then."

Of course I will.

Upon completion comes fulfillment.
With fulfillment comes liberation.
Liberation allows you to go on.
Even death is not a true ending.
Life is infinite continuation.

Well, this ends 2001 for Blogtography.com.

2002... you better bring it!

Oh, it's already been broughten. I don't have any New Year's Resolutions. I think my life is pretty good as it is. I'm pretty chipper, and satisfied with things. I don't need to change.

What I have been doing, is setting up the beginning of the year as a positive one. I've been telling all my friends, everyone I care about, that I appreciate what they've done for me, even if it's a small amount that they would look over. So if you haven't heard from me personally yet, you will. I'm blessed with a lot of friends, and it takes me awhile to contact each of you.

I love you all, in many different and meaningful ways.

Happy New Year! Best Wishes to you and yours!

My cousin Megan, and my brothers dog, Remi. How cute, huh?

A deviation of a hair's breadth at the center
Leads to an error of a hundred miles at the rim.
When the effort is so slight,
Why should you hesitate to set things right?

Well, I've gone home and come back again for and from Christmas vacation.

It was good to be around my family, and see friends of years past. I lost track of many of my friends, either they had moved, or their parents had moved and there's no way I can find out where to short of getting a private detective. Bummer.

So that's a good lesson, always keep in touch with those you hold close to you. Don't let months, or years pass by without writing, calling, emailing, or going to visit.

I hung out with my friend Colleen from when I went to college in North Idaho. It was pretty cool, we went out to the bars, went dancing at some club. A great night all together. I saw my friend Mike from Jr. High and High School, we played my brothers N64 and had a great time remembering years past. And as to not stop the Christmas in Boise tradition with my friend Ryan, we went to The Torch, the local strip club, on Christmas night, just as we have for the past few years whenever we're both in town for Christmas' past. Ryan is someone I haven't kept in constant touch with, but I know he'll always be there for me, and I'll always be there for him. We've been friends since the third grade, and I've never questioned the power of our friendship.

Sure, I may have gotten an Xbox for Christmas, some money, some clothes, but the real presents are my family and my friends that I've missed so much.

Thanks for a great Christmas.

These eyes...so tired.

Some days, you and I go mad.
Our bellies get stuffed full,
Hearts break, minds snap.
We can't go on the old way so
We change. Our lives pivot,
Forming a mysterious geometry.

Oi. I realize I haven't written in awhile. A good 10 days. Woo.

Aside from the time that has past, nothing much has changed. I now leave for Boise, Idaho in two days. I've setup play-dates with my friends from back home and everything. It's going to be a good trip.

My eyes are really tired right now. You'll see on the left the Archives have changed. They are now listed by month. Not only that, but are listed by Month name! That is a luxury that Blogger does not provide, so you have to do some sneaky javascripting to make each month Blogger would show as "05-2001" and make it appear as "May 2001".

You'll also notice older archives. I've attached the archives of my prior site before Blogtography, Chazio.com. That's why there are two April 2001's.

I am starting to think about packing. New regulations allow one checked bag and one carry on. Damn.

It gets cold in Idaho during winter, right? It's been so long I don't remember. I have no winter clothes! Ahhhh!

I hate it when I brush my teeth and then go and drink a glass of water. Bleh.

I guess that would probably hold true with eating or drinking anything right after brushing your teeth. It adds that minty toothpaste flavor to all your food.

Maybe that's why toothpaste is mint flavored? To keep us from eating right after brushing so that it has a chance to actually keep our teeth and breath fresh?

If toothpaste were chicken flavored, I'm sure it'd be much easier to eat food right after brushing.

Anyway.

I'm flying back to Boise, Idaho for Christmas! I leave in a little under 2 weeks from now. It's hard to believe it's been 2 years since I've been home.

Kristie; the first person I ever met off the internet. Looking at this photo, was that such a good idea?

Lightning rod at the pinnacle

Well my good friend Kristie drove over from Barstow (about 2 hours away) to spend all day Saturday with me. It had been almost a year since I had seen her last, and since then, she got married and moved from Seattle to Barstow, California.

Kristie is the very first person I met in real life off the internet. This was SEVEN YEARS AGO! That's a long time for the net! This was back when I was using AOL 2.0 or something.

I think back and try to remember what the internet was good for back then.

Then I look at the picture of Kristie above. I think about the past seven years of memories I've shared with her. The laughter, the tears, all the in's and out's.

And I know...

It was for meeting crazy people...

You hurt me years ago;

Now you are back,
But I am not the same.

My internet hates me. All night it's been connecting at extremely slow speeds (why did we ever have 14.4 modems?!?), disconnecting on me, and then not even picking up when I dial in. It's like I'm having a "relationship" fight over the phone. First it doesn't answer my questions, then it hangs up on me, then it won't answer when I call it back.

I love you internet!! :0( Talk to me!

Passion is but a prelude to

So this morning, I woke up to check my caller ID (I sleep through phone calls), and WALT DISNEY called me! The Anti-Christ is here! He's back from the dead! *cough*

Okay, so it was Disney Interactive, calling me about a position they had for me.

I'm a bit skeptical. I think maybe they found out about the comment I made a few days ago, and now they're trying to lure me into their chamber of death for saying such things. Disney is watching, they're watching us all I tell you!!!

So, I think I'm going to say NO to Disney. *gasp* Yes, I know. But there is another company vying for my attention, and I am waiting to see what they offer me, which I believe is better than what Disney is offering at the moment.

After I tell Disney NO, I will fear for my life. You don't fuck with Disney.

I spent the first part of the day in deep thought and reflection. I thought about how women have suffered throughout a lifetime of chauvanistic oppression. Getting paid less in the workplace just because they're women; being looked at as a piece of meat, and not the true sensitive person they are on the inside. If only us men could know the pain they've gone through, and take a walk in their shoes.

But we can't.

So later I read FHM and MAXIM, then I watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on ABC, and drooled at the sight of all the scantilly clad women.

Hot, hot women! *drools*

Express yourself:
That is meaning.

Well the past few days have been good. I hung out with Nicole the other day, went to the Glendale Galleria, ate dinner, retrieved her lost keychain at the mall security office, went back to her place and watched TV, drank beer, and then played Scrabble. There's more detail to all of those things, but I'm not gonna get into it. :0P Let's just say it was an experience.

Played Scrabble with my roommates. That's my saturday night. Drink beer, play Scrabble. I had some killer words too! I had one 32 point word, and one 42 point word**! The two highest scoring words the whole game. :0P Somehow I lost though, and Tyrico beat both Kain and I. It was our own fault though, we didn't read all the rules first, and just dived into the game. Then later during the game we read the rules on the box, and realized we were doing some stuff wrong. Like the fact we were using the dictionary all the time to look at words. D'oh! Next time it's full on Scrabble rules baby!

I'd better beef up on my vocabulary!

** "Nixy" was my 42 point word. 14 points AND it was on a triple word score box! GO ME!

Look what I did, Mom and Dad!

Spring was a time of swaggering declarations.
Reaching autumn, one finds few absolutes.
Life is mystery and ambiguity,
Toward winter, that now seems agreeable and comfortable.

So my fried, bleached and dyed out locks went under the razor today. They needed a fresh start, as most people do.

Besides, with the brown roots growing in, it looked pretty shitty with black hair. So *bzzzZ* I cut it all off. I had to pose for a picture (see above) while I was sculpting a mohawk. What do ya think?

No, I didn't keep the mohawk. I thought about it for a few minutes, then decided against it. :0P At least I now have a picture of myself with a mohawk, so if I'm auditioning for a "punk" role, I can show them how I could look. :0)

Hey all, it's really early in the morning and I'm still awake because I've been helping Brit from "Colditch", *evil grin* on a dhtml menu that seems to stump us all. But I promise I'll figure it out! I'm getting there! :0P

Nicole is back from Nawlin's, she had a good time (except for the first night), and she even brought me back some gifts! :0P I got a Voo Doo shot glass, and some beads with cool pirate skulls on them, and one special "viking skull". What's a viking doing hanging out with pirates? Hmm, weird.

The right side of my chest hurts and I don't know why! :0( Nicole cooked us a big spaghetti dinner tonight, but I don't think I have heartburn or anything. The spaghetti was scrumptious, babe! :0) I think I just have a sore muscle maybe, because I started a new workout routine that focuses on a lot of boxing moves. Jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and all the footwork inbetween. It's gonna get me into great shape. Speaking of which, I found myself these past few months eating a LOT of salad. I'm a salad freak now! I must have a nice yummy salad 3 times a week for dinner now. If you asked my mom, she'd tell you this is out of the ordinary for me, especially since I NEVER ate salad my entire life when I lived back home.

All this salad eating has made me lose some weight, me thinks. Walking around the new Paseo Colorado mall with Nicole on monday, I realized that my pants can't stay up without a belt. (Or my hands holding them up) Nicole had to point out all the times she could see my underwear. :0P

Now, Nicole..what were you looking down there for anyway? Hmmmmmmm? Hehe. ;0)

Estevan and Jeremiah. Can you see them? They're being stealthy.

An ocean of ink in a single drop,
Trembling at the tip of my brush.
Poised above stark white paper,
A universe waits for existence.

*plays cheesy Game Show music*

That's right kiddies! It's the Game Show Edition of Blogtography Dot Com!

Can you feel the excitement?!? Can't wait to win millions of dollars worth of prizes?!

GOOD, because I want to win some too! :0P

Okay, so yah. New design. Don't know why my brain thought of a game show look to it. My inspiration started off with "The $25,000 Pyramid", and I somehow decided I need "whammies" in the design, from the old gameshow "Press Your Luck!"

Go figure. I like it. How about you?

Anyway, my life is pretty cool right now. I've got no complaints. :0)

It's really early in the morning now. I spent way longer than I thought I was going to working on this design.

Goodnight!

Mysterious eyes. What lies beyond them? Probably cones, and rods, and eyeball guts.

You may be capable of great things,
But life consists of small things.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (yes, I'm a little late.)

We had a Halloween party, and it was muuuuuuuuuuuch fun!

It started off on a bad note because a few of us were watching the World Series and the D'backs lost again tonight! BAH!! Sure Kim, you have a cool pitch, but not when you give up two home runs to lose the game! ARGH! They should have let Schilling pitch the rest instead of taking him out! :0(

But once the booze and music started playing, all was forgotten, and we had a wild old time! :0)

The picture above is the Nicole I have spoken about in past entries. Oooo... she so pretty! :0P (I know she's gonna read this at some point, because I made the mistake of showing her this journal earlier tonight! D'oh!) Now I'd better say only nice things about her, or I'm done for! Hehe.

I'm writing this from my new bedroom, a good 15 feet from where I used to sleep in the living room. Woo hoo! I bet Tyrico loves that the computer is stashed away so he can't hear the *clickity-click-click* of the keyboard into the WEE hours of the night. :0)

With Estevan moving out, he's left us a little bit depleted in our appliance department. He owned the microwave, so now we don't have a way to nuke our food. I'm actually reading the section on my "microwave dinner" how to heat in a "conventional oven". He also owned the toaster we used, but I had a spare one stashed away in the cupboard so we're all good there. He owns the entertainment center, but apparently Kain is going to buy it from him because as Kain put it "it's just too good to give up." Fine by me if he wants to buy it, I'm not chipping in! :0P

Oh, and for those who want to know, I had last minute costume changes for the party. I was not a "naked woman in the shower". Instead, I was something much, much more scary. (Wait a minute, naked women in showers aren't scary! Well..most naked women in showers...) I was a bowler! But not just any bowler... I was ... a VEGETARIAN BOWLER!!

QUICK RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
