8.31.2001We communicate through gross symbols. We call them "objective," But we cannot escape our point of view. Well it's been a few days, just cuz I'm lazy and look at my blog and go "hmmm, what should i say?", then don't really come up with anything so there's no need to write in it. Anyway, besides that, there's the fact I get home at like 1am all the time from work, so I just don't feel the vibe of bloggin'...which I guess is a shitty excuse because it's now 2.48am. :0P At 5am we're leaving for LAX, I'm driving my roommates there so they can all fly home for Labor Day weekend, and I can sit around in an empty apartment for 3 days. :0) Wooooo! I gotta work all weekend, so no labor day fun for me. Boooo! Everyone is goin' campin'! I wanna go! :0P Anyway, work's been a load of fun...helped out a few celebrities since I started there, which is cool, and somewhat surreal. :0P Let's see...what else have I done. Oh I sat on some hotdogs when I came home for my lunch break a few days ago. Exciting! :0P Well...only 2 more hours left before I drive these guys to LAX...then I'm gonna sleep until I go to work at noon. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 2:56 AM |
8.26.2001Pull weeds in the afternoon. The joys and labor of a single day Are part of a whole journey. Well friday night, Kain, Tyrico, Sheena and I went to see "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back!", which to say the least, sucked. They were trying WAY too hard with that one. It was worse than Dogma....way worse. Okay okay, there were a few good scenes, but I use that term loosely. :0P Anyway, Kain paid for me, so I didn't waste any money, thank you very much. I worked close Saturday night, and I work close tonight (Sunday), and tomorrow as well. Then Tuesday I get to work mid shift, and then I have Wed and Thursday off. Woo woo! Just like my Tao quote above says...the joys and labor of a single day, are part of a whole journey. Well it's way early in the morning, and I can't think of anything else to write about for now...so bug off! :0P blogged by Chaz @ 4:00 AM |
8.23.2001Conceal talent. Shield your light. Bide your time. The image above is from our Beach day over last weekend, where we stopped off at Hot Dog Stick to get a bite to eat. Not only is Hot Dog Stick a great place for you beef eaters to get a hotdog, but it's also well known for Cheese on a Stick! Yum! That day I bought American cheese on a stick....sooooo good! :0P I also insist you try their lemonade if you visit! :0) Well it's 3.38am right now, and I have to work later today. So why am I awake still? Hell I don't work until 4pm, I gotta get my blood flowing back to later hours, so I'm not extremely tired when my shift ends at 12.30am! :0P My bank account finally grew in size...not a lot, but enough to go buy some food. I'm value shopping now. I actually substituted Dr. Pepper (yes, i know, how could I do such a thing) for the ever cheaper ($1.29 for a six-pack) Dr. Shasta! :0P It's pretty nasty and will never compare to my DP...but desperate times call for desperate measures, right? hehe. I fixed my broken necklace that I wrote about a few blogs ago. It is now safely wrapped snug around my neck, back where it belongs. I no longer feel naked. I admit, I had to borrow Kain's necklace a few times on certain outings (like to the beach last weekend), just so I'd feel something there on my neck. :0P Yes, I'm strange. I'm going to be alone for Labor Day weekend I guess. Estevan and Tyrico are going to New Mexico (where Estevan's family is), and Kain is going...somewhere (I'm not sure where). And who knows, I'm probably working. Which isn't bad, because I get time and a half for working on Labor Day. Woo. Anyone wanna come over to my phat pad for some parties while my roommies are away? *winks at all the girls out there* hehe. Kain got a lead part in an independent short film. Good for him! *claps* He's really been working on his goals recently, puttin' his nose to the grindstone. We're doing an Agent Showcase in October, so we need to start preparing for that. It's gonna be exciting. I watched "James Dean" on TNT tonight...it's a good bio-flick. He was so ahead of his time in the acting world, his thoughts and approaches to characters were quite wild and exciting. It really got my blood flowing, because I really related to him. In fact, one of my professors at AADA wrote on one of my student reviews "approach to his character is a bit haphazard, but it pays off nicely in the end.", and another teacher wrote "took a big risk on his character study and it was magnificent, some of the best work this year.", aren't those some awesome comments? And another thing, in the film, James Dean goes in to get this top agent in Hollywood, and then explains to her that he wants to do parts that are important, that mean something. No bit parts, no extras. He doesn't care if he starves, he wants something with meaning. That's exactly what I want to tell my agent. Oh I can't wait. :0) blogged by Chaz @ 4:00 AM |
8.21.2001Well I'm on my lunch break. Woo hour lunch! :0PI'm bein' put back on register when I go back too, bah! My first double shift on register. Booooo! :0P Came home to grab some food and check the balance of my bank account, which has mysteriously not changed in the past few days, when it should have. Boooo to that too! :0P I love coming home for lunch, I'm so glad I only live two blocks away from Tower Records! Woo hoo! blogged by Chaz @ 4:50 PM |
They express our intent, But they cannot change the wind. Yes, I'm aware that today's photo is a bit gruesome, but hey, it happens. It was a dead torn up bird on the beach, and the other birds were eating it and I just happened to snap a photo of it. Pretty sick. :0P Anyway, today was another day at work. First time "alone" on a register..only my third day working and I'm a superstar. That's what my boss told me at least. :0P So far every time I've counted out, my drawer is even...which I guess is a rarity for new people, because she keeps asking me how my count out went, and I'm like "uhh..even?" cuz isn't that what's supposed to happen? But she gives me a surprised look like "Wow, really?!" and then continues to congratulate me. Heh. Yay me, I can count money. :0P Work at noon tomorrow, so I get to sleep in a little bit, then I get humpday off, and work my first closing on Thursday. Yah know what? I missed a little bit of the "routine" of going to work...so I'm glad I've got one going again, this way I know I'm not lazy. Well, not TOO lazy. :0) blogged by Chaz @ 1:32 AM |
8.19.2001That interferes with compassion. Ahhh my feet hurt. I need some Dr. Scholl's insoles for mah aching feet! :0P Tower is fun to work at, but they need a foot massage since we stand on our feet all day. :0P First full day went well, I even busted a shoplifter! Go me! Go me! Go, go, go me! :0) The kid was being too obvious about it when he was handling CD's, and I just walked up to him and asked him to come with me as I took him to loss prevention, who was waiting for him since they saw him on camera. It was funny to see it played back on tape. Too bad the kid didn't run, I would have liked to chase him for some exercise. :0P Oh well, maybe tomorrow I'll have the luck of chasing a crook down! :0) I work 9-5 again, which really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I woke up and was full of energy! :0) Let's hope that's the case tomorrow morning, hehe. In other news, I miss the Jezzmeister, and her sister Dellio is a silly little baby girl! Yah that's right, you heard me Del! ;0) The end. blogged by Chaz @ 6:18 PM |
8.18.2001Willow branches weep ice. Swan rises dazzling in the sunlight. Last night Estevan, Tyrico and I went bowling. That "special" bowling where they turn on a bunch of black lights, and disco lights, and play loud music and you just bowl for three hours. It was fun, we got about 5 and a 1/2 games in before they turned the lanes off. I got a 154 for my high game, which I guess isn't too bad. :0P Today we went to Santa Monica beach! :0) We had a good time walking around the pier, and playing games, and Estevan and Ty rode the Merry-Go-Round while I took pictures. The picture above is from today's visit. Neat, huh? :0P Well tomorrow I work at 9am...wow. I haven't worked at a job that early since...wow, I can't remember. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 7:28 PM |
8.17.2001Quickly washed away: The seashore mind. Well today was my first day of work at Tower Records. After all the paperwork and light training on the computer in the back, the manager tossed me on a register and I went to work. A guy named Kevin was there to train me while I was doing it. Not hard at all. He just stood around to make sure. But I did just about every transaction in my first day: cash, credit, debit, check, gift card, gift certificate, refund. How exciting. Then we counted out, (meaning we took my drawer to the back and counted the money out..blah blah) and I was off. Only worked for about 5 hours for the first day. Sunday will be my first full shift, working 9am-5pm...with a few more morning shifts throughout the week, and then starting thursday I'll pretty much be working nights 4-12.30am! What fun! The people are really cool there, we all have our style, Tower is cool like that, and don't have much of a "code". Except for I guess you have to wear shoes, which I was only wearing flip-flops...but the manager said it was okay, cuz she didn't tell me that. But they're really not strict, as Kevin had two lip rings, two eyebrow rings, and wore all black, as did a couple other goth-types there. Schweetness! :0) This will be a fun job working nights, while auditioning for stuff during the day. Fits perfectly I think. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 6:47 PM |
8.16.2001Well, I know the question that you're all wanting to ask! Did I pass the test?!Well duh. Of course I did, I'm not stupid. :0P Even with an appointment I had to stand around and wait for things. Oh well, it was still faster than the "non-appointment" line. So now I have this piece of paper that acts as my license, until they mail me my real one. Whoop-de-do. My picture was alright. Why is it though, that they seem to wait for the instant that you're not really ready, and then they snap the photo? The lady told me to smile, so I started to smile, and I blinked and she took the picture while my eyes were 3/4 of the way open. So I look stoned. Which I guess isn't bad. So then if I get pulled over while I'm stoned, and I show the officer my license, he'll just think I look like that all the time. :0P Haha...I'm just kidding...I don't get stoned! :0) So anyway, it's hot here, and my right butt-cheek itches. Other than that, nothing is going on at the moment. :0P The end. blogged by Chaz @ 5:42 PM |
But if one comes your way, do not refuse. If you meet someone who is suffering, You must help them. Well I got hired at Tower, I start tomorrow at noon for a short shift of training. Go me! :0P My DMV test is in an hour, so I'm all spiffed up to look good for the "oh-so-wonderful" license photo. I'm gonna act like I'm getting my headshots taken, all posing, and the lady will be like "Excuse me sir, can you just sit there normal?" "Sir, you're wasting film." "No sir, you can't get this in an 8x10." Anyway, congrats to Jezzamy for moving into her new place! *claps* *throws confetti* Okay, the end. blogged by Chaz @ 12:45 PM |
8.15.2001All things turn their faces toward the light. My most favorite necklace in the world broke today while I was talking to my mom. It was as if I was shot in the neck, and blood started spewing out of it, and I reached to cover the hole in slow motion as the blood poured out. All the beads just sprayed out from my neck, and I was trying to stop them all from going somewhere. I think I got most of them, now I just need to find my bead wire and make the necklace again. :0P Yes, as you may have noticed, I have redesigned the site. This is a much lighter, more simple version, and I hope you like it all the better. :0) Interview with Tower Records tomorrow, wish me luck! blogged by Chaz @ 2:12 AM |
8.14.2001Can I just say "what the fuck?!" I call Bally's today, just like the guy yesterday told me to do, and I get shut down! I was like "yah I called yesterday about setting up an interview, and the guy I talked to said to call back today." and they're like "what was his name, do you know?" and I'm like "well he didn't say his name, he just said to call back today." and they're like "do you know what the position was for?" and I said "well the guy asked me if I would do sales, and I said yes, so he said to call back." and they're like "did you turn in an application?" and I'm like "yuh, last week." and they're like "did anyone call you back?" and I said "no, I just called yesterday to follow up." and then they're like "well that's not our process, you should wait for someone to call you back and let you know a position is open." Uhhhh...what?!?!!? The guy said I could do sales!!! That means there is a position open! Idiots! ARGH!But in other news, Tower Records called me back, and wants me to come in tomorrow for an interview. There is a full time position open there, from 4pm-12.30am...the late shift! *dun dun dun* So I'll probably land that job, the pay is shitty, but it will have to do. At least I'll be able to get free tickets to concerts and shit! WOOT! Hopefully Bally's will still call me...those bastards. blogged by Chaz @ 3:41 PM |
And you will Dispel fate. We watched "Run Lola, Run" tonight on digital cable. Wow. That movie was amazing. I should slap myself for not seeing it over a year ago when I lived here in Pasadena before, and it was playing at the Independent Film theater down the street. The subtitles didn't bother me one bit. It was just...wow. It really made me think about "what if I could do that over again?" type stuff...and how would it be different. The soundtrack was pretty off the hook too, and kept the movie movin' along, just as fast as Lola was running. I caught myself say out loud "run lola, run!!!!!" during certain parts of the film, so no wonder that's such a good title for it! It was really short...only an hour and 15 min. But...again...wow! See it if you haven't! *runs* blogged by Chaz @ 3:22 AM |
8.13.2001When we face the conflict Between our desires And reality. Well my feeling about Bally's Total Fitness is good. I'm set up for an interview tomorrow! WOO HOO! Although it might not be Front Desk or Child Care...it will most likely be for Sales, which is fine with me, I just want a job. :0P Anyway, we're invited to a few private screenings to some movies here in Hollywood, so we're going to see "Oceans 11" tomorrow night, and "Domestic Disturbance" on humpday. Should be fun, and free! :0) Kain came home and wrote out on three pieces of paper that we're having a "House Meeting" tonight at 10pm, and then handed each of us the paper. It's a meeting about "the biz", is all it says. Haha. I live with some funny roommates. :0P Not to mention our apartment is probably *the coolest* I've ever lived in. Every new person who walks into it goes "Wow, you guys have a nice place! This is cool!" Yah, yah, I know...total chick magnet! :0P blogged by Chaz @ 4:41 PM |
8.12.2001Uninterrupted current. Headwater, channel, mouth. Can they be divided? American Pie 2 is SO funny! Now Kain and I are walkin' around talkin' like Stifler. Anyway, we bought our tickets early this time, then went to Hooter's for a few beers, then herded ourselves into the crowded theater. Hil-fuckin'-arious!! Still hot here in Pasadena, but I love hot weather. I'm glad I live in Cali...it's just too good to give up! :0) Oh well, short journal entry, nothin' much to say...I'm glad Jezzamy is back from the lake though! Missed ya! ;0) blogged by Chaz @ 4:53 PM |
8.11.2001I waited until midnight for a sound. Outside me, it was noisy all day: I waited all night for silence. Well American Pie 2 was sold out last night. So Kain, Sheena and I stood around deciding on another movie, then we walked over to another movie theatre to see what was playing there, then we were like, "screw it, let's go drink!" So we went to Gordon Biersch, had a few beers...this time I chipped in $10 dollars...and just had a great time talkin' and laughin'. Then we went home, drank some more beer, and Sheena made us some rings made out of money! How cool is that! She made Kain a $5 ring, and me a $10 ring! (See picture above) I'm sure the ring has sentimental value now, but man, Sheena, if I need to eat or something and I have no money...you'll have to make me another ring some other time cuz I'm spending the ring! hehe. After Sheena left, our neighbor came over and hung out with us and drank beer. Nothin' too exciting, cuz that guy is weird, yo! So...today is Saturday, right? I'm losing my sense of...uhm...whatever it's called. I'm losing my sense. That sounds better. Why are you laughing at me? Listen! I refuse to play your chinese food mindgames!!! :0P blogged by Chaz @ 2:34 PM |
8.10.2001Well as I mentioned before, our plans might change...and they have. Not goin' to San Diego, which means I'll miss out on Far's going away party! I'm sorry Far!! :0( Kain can't get someone to work for him in the morning, and Danielle won't call me back so we know where we're staying, and I can't afford to go down to SD on my own...so we're stayin' put for now. :0PInstead I think we're goin' to see American Pie 2 tonight. :0) blogged by Chaz @ 5:33 PM |
Must be pushed out. Well I received the 2nd copy of my Birth Certificate. It came with a birthday card from Mom, Dad, Chris (my brother), and Nikki (my cousin). Thanks for the card! :0) Last night I went out with Kain and Ray to a couple bars. First Ray brought over some beer, and we drank those before we left, then we walked down to Jake's, where there was a cover for the DJ, but somehow I didn't pay it. I think some of these doormen are seeing that my license I'm using is expired though. The guy at Jake's took forever to let me in. He brought out a little flashlight and kept examining it, asking me when the last time I've been to Jake's was, and "so you just had a birthday, huh?". So he finally said okay, and I just walked by him without paying. Anyway, we didn't stay there long, because the scene was pretty blah, so we went to the 35er. Kain paid for a couple pitchers of beer, and I paid NOTHING! WOO! Plus, I didn't pay anything for the games of pool either. A completely free night of drunkeness for me! Well supposedly we're going to San Diego later today. Kain is at work, and soon after he gets home, we'll be off to try to beat the traffic. The bonfire party doesn't start until 8.30pm, but it takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there without traffic. Some girl called for Kain earlier today though, to tell him that she can't work for him tomorrow, so I'm not sure what that means for our plans. Either we're not going, or we're coming back WAAAAAAAAAAAY early in the morning. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 2:56 PM |
8.09.2001Rises in the body's core Tap it and be sustained. Channel it, and it will speak. I finally got my Birth Certificate my mother sent by priority mail, even though I think she sent the 2nd copy at the beginning of this week, which means I'll have both copies now. Too much responsibility! :0P Anyway, time to set up my appointment with the DMV now that I have a copy in my hand! Did you know I was born at 5.18pm on July 30th, 1977? Is that why I always want to curl up into the fetus position around 5.20pm everyday? Not to mention how I want someone to spank my ass around that time too. :0P Other than that, I don't have much to say. Oh wait, except that my friend Pei Pei is cute. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 1:19 AM |
8.08.2001I officially suck. Damn me to hell. :0PI forgot to say a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NIKKI!!!! Sorry I was so stupid and didn't say it back on July 28th, when it actually was your birthday, but uhh..this will have to do. :0P I miss you and love you lots, Nikki! I'm glad you're very happy with your life! *muah* ------- I may get a job working in the daycare at Bally's Total Fitness, because hey, I love children, and I have years of experience in child care and whatnot working at the YMCA. Wish me luck! :0) blogged by Chaz @ 7:52 PM |
You are darkness. Your soul is at stake. Your soul is light. Dissipation is the threat. Don't surrender the key. Just dissolve. Applied at Blockbuster, Tower Records, some gym equipment shop, and tomorrow I'm off to Bally's Total Fitness a few blocks away to apply for something there. Argh! Can someone from these places PLEASE CALL ME BACK FOR AN INTERVIEW!! *crosses fingers* (watch they all call me back and I have to make a choice on who to work for...woo!) My friend Farinaz invited me to her going away bonfire party this friday, down in San Diego. I think Kain and Estevan and maybe Danielle are going to head down for the night. Kain has never been to San Diego, and I also want to see if my old apartment is holding a month's worth of my mail! Anyway, if Danielle goes, we can probably spend the night at her folk's place. That'd be sweeeeeeeet. It's hot here in the valley. Today was a sickening dry heat. Of course we're conserving energy and not using our a/c, so we have a big fan running and all the windows open. Ick it's hot. Sure Jezz says that 86 isn't hot! Well..it...feels like it is! Shush! :0P hehe. I'm pickin' back up the nice digi cam I bought months ago, and I'm gonna make a better commitment of actually posting photos in this so-called photo-blog of mine! :0P Wish me luck! blogged by Chaz @ 1:33 AM |
8.07.2001Whether alone or with others, keep serenity. It's been awhile since I've posted a photo, so now is about time, eh! :0P Blogger is being a bitch to me, and not letting me backspace or delete when I make a mistake, so I keep going back and pressing the insert key and typing over stuff. Driving me crazy! It's also not letting me copy paste properly, so the ease of copying some code in a few places has disappeared. :0P Oh well, nothing much to chat about. Getting tired, goin' to bed soon. Goin' to apply for more jobs tomorrow. You can feel the excitement, can't you? *twirls finger* blogged by Chaz @ 2:44 AM |
8.06.2001Well I finally got some keys made for this place, so now I can come and go without being worried about being locked out when I come back. :0PJob search is still on, I have that vibe that something is coming soon...very soon. I hope. :0) The Best Buy application process sucks. It's basically an "online interview", you start answering basic questions, like when you can work, if you want full or part-time, and where you live. Well...answer incorrectly, and they say "Sorry, we're not looking for someone to work full-time!" or something like that. I even went back and answered differently, and said "flexible part-time", went a little further, and then it told me that "We have other applicants who more closely match our needs." WTF?! I didn't even show my work history or anything. All I answered was "Work in Pasadena. Part-time flexible. Non-commissioned sales." How do they get to know what other applicants more closely match their needs?!?! Stupid whores! Anyway, I went through on a different part of the site, and submitted my resume instead. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 6:24 PM |
When we became companions. But now, unhappy, you are leaving. The sky turns to bitter candescence Unslaked by resignation. We may have worked out a plan for Monday morning (later this morning), dealing with the rent issue. Since I won't, most likely, get rent money until later in the day Monday, Estevan can spot $230, while Kain may be able to spot the rest with $107. Then when I get funds, I will pay them right back. *wipes brow* Let's hope we can get this worked out before Estevan's check bounces. Eeek! :0/ Anyway, on to lighter news. We watched Monty Python's Life of Brian, tonight, which I own. Both Kain and Estevan have never seen it! And they call themselves Python fans! Pssh...you shouldn't even be able to call yourselves actors for such a thing! :0P Anyway...funny as always. I was watching a special on HBO where the Python's were honored...and they were discussing the fact they may be doing another movie here on their anniversary. Well..they didn't *say* movie..they said "we are thinking of doing "something"...", but this was in context to the host's question about doing another Python movie. Anyway...wouldn't that be great?!? I seriously believe Monty Python is the greatest comedy troupe ever! :0) Silly twits. :0P blogged by Chaz @ 3:40 AM |
8.05.2001It could be an opportunity. I'd just like to say one thing...HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEZZAMY!!!!!!! Oh and..P.S. - *MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAH* blogged by Chaz @ 12:33 AM |
8.04.2001The other is hot and dry. Just by choosing where you stand, You alter your destiny. Well the money problems fester in an open wound. We may be able to persuade the landlord not to deposit the rent check until Tuesday, because the soonest I can get the rent is Monday afternoon. Sucks. :0( I found a job on Monster.com that I am actually "over-qualified" for. It was just posted there today, and I sent them my resume. It's in Santa Monica (30-45 minutes away), and it pays 45k-55k a year. This would be very, very good if I scored this job. *crosses fingers* In the meantime, I'm going over to Best Buy today to apply there. They may drool over the fact that I worked at a dot com company. :0P Well I want to send positive vibes out to someone who doesn't talk to me anymore. I know, I know, you're asking why would I want to do something like that when they don't talk to me at all. Well it's simple. I care about her. So sue me. :0P *throws positive vibes out to her* On another note, I hope Jezzy is havin' a good time at Cedar Point! Yay it's your birthday tomorrow! :0) blogged by Chaz @ 2:31 PM |
8.03.2001Abundance in great measure. Supreme success In the midst of impermanence. Well just another day. Well...friday. But still another day. Searching for jobs, sending out resumes. I want to go food shopping, but I don't have much money. I need to pay rent, but I don't have much money. I'll get by somehow. And if I don't...then I'll learn my lesson. MTV's 20th Birthday party has been playing over and over on that channel. I'd have to say the *best* performance of the night was Sum41's opener! It was off the hook! Go punk rock! :0P blogged by Chaz @ 2:21 PM |
8.02.2001Can it be that you are that proud? We are all beings on the path, All victims of the same existence, All with body, mind, and spirit. No one is better than the next person. Help others for all the times that you have been ignored. Be kind to others, for all the times that you have been scorned. Well I'm all set up here in Pasadena! I finally have a place I can call home. My computer is all set up, and my bed is all set up. It just makes things more...mine. It feels a lot better. I gave a few tours with the webcam, showed off the phat pad I live in, with the cool spiral staircase and whatnot. :0P My friend Kristie, who moved to Barstow (about 2 hours away) more than a month ago, finally got hooked up with a phone so I could call her up. It's good to hear her voice. Her and her husband will be coming to visit in the next few weeks most likely, because there isn't anything to do in Barstow. That town sucks...don't expect me to visit you, Kristie!! :0) I wrote up my resume today, now I just need to find some good places to give it to. Wish me luck! blogged by Chaz @ 3:47 PM |
